We will stop Brexit!

At Liberal Democrat party conference this month, members passed a Europe motion that commits the party to revoking Article 50 in the event of a Liberal Democrat majority government.

Speaking after the motion, Liberal Democrat Leader Jo Swinson said:

"The Liberal Democrats are crystal clear: if we win the next election, we will stop Brexit by revoking article 50 and remaining in the European Union. People deserve better than Boris Johnson's No Deal Brexit and Jeremy Corbyn's Labour Brexit. At the next election, voters can instead choose the Liberal Democrats, and our clear and unequivocal policy to Stop Brexit.

Before an election is called, the Lib Dems will continue to work cross-party to prevent a dangerous No Deal Brexit, and support a People's Vote, with the option to remain. We will do all we can to fight for our place in Europe, and to stop Brexit altogether."

We believe that Britain is better off in the EU. That's why we're fighting to stop Brexit. The Conservatives are making a mess of Brexit, and the Labour Leadership continue to support them. Corbyn even wants to try and negotiate his own deal with the EU (even though the EU said it's not going to!).

OUR PLAN FOR EUROPE

  • Every vote for the Liberal Democrats is a vote to stop Brexit.
  • Protect British jobs and public services by being part of the biggest economic bloc in the world.
  • Protect the rights of EU and UK citizens living abroad - ending the uncertainty for millions of people.

So, if you want to Remain in the EU, then vote for it. Vote for the Liberal Democrat candidate.

Andy Hagon said,'This is not about you and me. It's about the survival of the Tory Party. Johnson knows it won't get through but that doesn't matter to him. He just wants to be able to say in the coming General Election that he got a new (rubbish) deal with the EU.'

Andy Hagon saw both sides saying, 'the Tories want to look tough on crime. Locking people up is their answer. The Lib Dems want tougher community sentences to be more widely used, and more to rehabilitiate offenders, supporting them so they don't want to re offend.'

John Maynard Keynes evidently said, 'When the facts change, I change my mind. What do you do?' It's clear that many people have changed their minds about Brexit and now want to Remain in the EU. Imagine buying a new TV and it doesn't do all the things it promised - you'd take it back to the shop wouldn't you?

The Liberal Democrats will continue to campaign for a regulated cannabis market in the UK, which would a robust appraoch to licensing, rather than leaving the market in the hands of criminals.

If someone told you that there was a really important decision to make and you had three years to make it, you could probably do that couldn't you? Well not if you are the Labour Party, who can't even make a decision about Brexit.

At their Conference yesterday, Corbyn sat on the fenceā€¦.. again. If he becomes PM (which seems unlikely given he's the most unpopular Opposition Leader in 45 years) he wants to get the best deal he can (although his shadow Chancellor John Mcdonnell says we can't get a better deal than the one we currently have with the EU).

Andy said,' The Tory Government has ravaged our social infrastructure and so it is not surprising we have more people feeling lonely, and isolated, and lots of young people with time on their hands and nothing to do.'
